Artist Statement

Dina began painting and showing her work at a very young age. After a career in Fashion Design, she returned to the art world following a life-threatening horseback riding accident that changed the course of her life and eventually led her to renew her commitment to creating art. Originally from Southern California, she spent 7 years on the edge of the Hawaii rainforest before relocating to rural Tennessee. When not in the studio, she enjoys spending time with her many animals and is active in a number of non-profit organizations.

"My work is an expression of the bond between humanity and nature. I seek to evoke a sense of oneness; a connection to the part of us that feels grounded in our shared experience and reminds us that life on this earth is vulnerable and deeply intertwined. Many of my pieces use symbolism or metaphor to visually express a deeper meaning within the image. My paintings are loose, textural, multi-layered compositions that hover somewhere between abstract and representational, with an organic openness that invites the viewer to become part of the conversation."
