Paul Edelstein

Artist Statement

Paul Edelsetein's artwork is conceptually driven by the figuative relationships that occur in abstraction.  Deeply intrigued by the associations and connections of personalities casually coming and going, Edelstein focuses on the transient nature of places and the interactions of characters in his rich compositions.

Edelstein is motivated to create through the enigmatic nature of people - the constructs of the group. Figures wait, anticipate, gather, and interact on Edelstein's canvases.

Like a director, Edelstein illustrates the intriguing meeting of his abstract cast.  Paul paints in abstract figurative, inpressionistic style, where color is his day-long inspiration.
